Hong Kong Never Normal is an initiative created by TBWA, bringing together over 40 brands and influencers, such as film director Stephen Fung, business leader Allan Zeman, and Olympic swimmer Stephanie Au.
The client was looking for a design for gifted premium tote bags to capture the 'Never Normal' aspect of Hong Kong.

Inspired by the city's taxi drivers with 9 phones speeding through the city, workers scaling towering bamboo scaffolding and endless dishes with a story to tell. We created 3 designs which we refined with the client's feedback.

"Is Hong Kong back to normal?" It's a question that continues to be asked of people who live in Hong Kong, and to those who visit Hong Kong. It assumes that the city has not been itself in recent years.

However, Hong Kong has always been a vibrant and entrepreneurial city with unique quirks and idiosyncrasies that gives the city its soul. So to answer the question, no, Hong Kong is not back to normal because the truth is, Hong Kong has never really been normal.

For this unique collaboration, together with Young Soy Gallery we designed and manufactured a bespoke line of tote bags for Hong Kong Never Normal, an initiative by TBWA.
